Who is Nene Royal?

Nene Royal — real name Rattikarn "Praew" Amloy — is a 16-year-old rock guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter from Phuket, Thailand. She taught herself guitar as a kid, starting out on a cheap night-market guitar and busking for donations in Phuket with her local band, Ozone.

In 2026 she took America's Got Talent Season 21 by storm: a four-yes audition of The Cranberries' "Zombie," a Judges' Callback tearing through Muse's "Hysteria," and a Quarterfinal Golden Buzzer from Mel B for Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" that sent her straight to the Final. She closed her run with The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" and finale collaborations alongside Linkin Park and The Warning — and on September 23, 2026, she was crowned the Season 21 champion, the first Thai act ever to win the show.
